Superior Services celebrates 30 years!

One of Corby town centre’s longest serving retailers is celebrating 30 years in business with three special incentives for customers.

Superior Services, located in Corporation Street, started in a kiosk before relocating to its current unit. Run by owner Ian Northover with two employees, the store offers a range of services including key cutting, car remote key programming and shoe and watch repairs. Superior Services offers the largest range of keys in Corby and also stocks a wide selection of gifts, including leather items, Sekonda watches, glassware, Dartington crystal, gold and silver jewellery, pewter tankards and Sheaffer and Cross pens. Most of the items can be engraved using traditional and advanced laser techniques. The company is also able to supply engraved trophies, awards and medals.

To celebrate the store’s 30-year tenure in Corby town centre, Superior Services is discounting car key cutting and remote programming by 30 per cent. Town centre managers are also supporting the store by offering to fund free engraving until the end of the year for any items purchased to mark a 30-year anniversary. Any customer spending over £10 will also receive a free raffle ticket with the chance to win a range of prizes and vouchers. The draw will take place at the end of November.

The store’s longevity is only surpassed by Corby town centre florist Flowertime, which opened three years earlier in 1992. Superior Services owner Ian Northover, who lives in Weldon, says: “We’ve seen a lot of changes in the business over the years, but we have moved with the times and added new services to meet customers’ changing requirements. We also opened an additional store in Northampton in 2009, which is managed by my son.

“Shoe repairs were once a big part of the business but now only account for about 10 per cent of what we do. That’s largely due to the availability of more affordable mass-produced shoes but the Covid lockdowns meant more people stayed at home, and many of course continue to work from home, putting less stress on their footwear!”

The store’s celebratory promotions run until the end of November with full details available in-store.

Town Centre Director Dan Pickard says: “We are delighted to be helping Superior Services mark this incredible milestone. Our independent store line-up is second to none in the county and its companies like Ian’s offering niche services and products that contribute to Corby town centre’s vibrant trading environment. We wish Superior Services all the best for their continued success.”
