Persistent heartburn in Corby

Let’s talk about it.

In February 2026, Heartburn Cancer UK is working alongside East Midlands Cancer Alliance to deliver a local awareness campaign across Corby, focused on persistent heartburn and its potential link to oesophageal cancer.

This campaign is about helping people pause and take notice of symptoms that are often brushed off or managed at home. Ongoing heartburn, indigestion, or acid reflux – especially when symptoms last three weeks or more – can be a sign that it’s time to speak to a GP or healthcare professional.

The Heartburn Cancer UK team will be in Corby at Willow Place on 30 January (10am–4pm) and 31 January 2026 (10am–2pm), meeting local residents and sharing trusted information.

Many people live with heartburn for months or even years, assuming it’s just part of everyday life. Through this campaign, we want to challenge that thinking and help residents of Corby understand when heartburn isn’t something to ignore – and why getting checked early really matters.

By sharing clear, trusted information and encouraging open conversations, the campaign aims to build confidence to act. Earlier diagnosis of oesophageal cancer can lead to more treatment options and better outcomes, and awareness plays a vital role in making that happen.

Whether you’re experiencing persistent heartburn yourself, supporting a family member or friend, or working in healthcare or the community, this campaign is about looking out for one another, recognising the signs, and taking early action.

Because when it comes to persistent heartburn, listening to your body – and acting early – can save lives.
