Corby on ice!

For the first time ever, we are hosting a real ice skating rink and a three-day Victorian-themed travelling market as part of our 2019 Christmas festivities.

The Corby ice rink will operate until 5 January and will be open from 10am – 10pm Saturdays and school holidays, 10am – 8pm on Sundays and from 4pm – 8pm from Monday to Friday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays in November).

The ice rink will be installed alongside our new Gateway long stay car park off Anne Street, which offers over 470 spaces and easy access via lifts and stairs to the town centre shops. It will measure a mammoth 25m x 12m and will be operated by London-based Ice Leisure Group.

Up to one hundred people can take to the ice during each 45-minute session and a roof over the rink will guarantee family-fun whatever the weather. A range of ice-skates, illuminated polar bear skating-aids and double-bladed trainer skates will be available for hire. Adult tickets will cost £9.50 per session including skate hire and £7.50 for children and there will be general as well as some disco skating sessions.

The Victorian-themed travelling market will take place from 29 November until 1 December alongside the skating rink. On sale will be a selection of handcrafted and unique Christmas gifts as well as festive food and drink, including spiced wine, a hog roast and roasted chestnuts. To add to the festive spirit, there will be juggling, stilt-walking, circus skills workshops, balloon modelling, magics shows and more. Entrance to the market is free.

Online bookings for the ice skating can be made now at www.corbyicerink.com, where full details can be found.
