Deichmann opens on 26 September

We are delighted to announce that leading European footwear retailer Deichmann will be joining the Willow Place line-up on 26th September.

Now in its 110th year of trading, the German-based retailer is Europe’s leading footwear brand, with over 4,600 branches worldwide in 31 countries and employing over 48,000 people. The company sells footwear for all occasions as well as fashion accessories, handbags and other leather goods.

Meanwhile, work is progressing well on the £9.5 million project to transform a building in Corby town centre into a ‘go-to’ place for students wanting to study in a 16+ only environment. The Corby Sixth Form, which opens in September, is part of The Bedford College Group, which includes Tresham College. It will offer an ambitious and inclusive learning environment that will help build vital study and life skills and act as a stepping stone towards university or employment. A wide range of A-level and Diploma courses are on offer, all taught by subject specialists.

The new signing has come at a busy time for the centre, with several tenants relocating to larger units and reinforcing their confidence in Corby. Fashion retailer Sales Lab has relocated from Willow Place to a larger unit in New Post Office Square. Empire Hair and Beauty has moved to Henley Balcony and are now open and trading in their new salon, making way for a new and unique retailer for Corporation Street. Independent barbers ‘The Cut Lab’ have also recently opened in New Post Office Square opposite Lloyds Bank. Euro Havana will shortly open on Corporation Street offering Cuban cigars and snacks.

Centre Director Dan Pickard says: “Corby town centre continues to buck the national retail trend and the latest influx of new tenants and relocations is testament to this. The recent return of TJ Hughes is proving a real hit with customers keen to purchase top brands at discount prices. We are currently in discussions with another eight prospective occupiers for various other locations throughout Corby town centre.”
