Children’s Covid-19 poster competition

We have launched a poster design competition to help children and young people better understand Covid-19 social distancing and hygiene guidelines.

Centre Director Dan Pickard says: “Now that most of our shops have reopened, we’ve noticed that a lot of children and young people are failing to observe the social distancing and queuing guidelines in Corby town centre. So, on the basis that young people are more in tune with how their peers think and act, we thought we would get them to design posters that we can place around the town centre to help get the message across.”

Not only will children have the opportunity to see their artwork displayed in the town centre, but each selected winner will receive a £25 voucher to spend at The Entertainer. There will be two categories – primary (4-11) and secondary (11-18). Initially send in a digital picture of your artwork along with the child’s name, age and address details to competitionline@icloud.com. Only winners will need to supply the originals so that they can be made into large posters.

Poster designs should be A4 portrait in format. They can include single or multiple messages, such as:

• Keep your distance
• Follow queuing markers and directional arrows
• Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds
• Be mindful and respectful of others
• Cover your nose with a tissue if you cough or sneeze
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

The closing date for receipt of entries is Wednesday, 8 July 2020.
