Following the introduction of the 5p carrier bag charge introduced on October 1st the Corby Pep & Co store have selected a local charity to benefit from the profits raised from this.
The charity Pep & Co have selected is Lakelands Hospice in Corby. The store manager Susan Honeyfield said: “We are delighted to announce that we will be donating our carrier bag income to Lakelands Day Care Hospice.
The charity is very close to the hearts of many Corby people and the work they do is a huge asset to the town”
The fundraising manager for Lakelands, Paul Marlow, visited the store to meet the team and explain how important local fundraising is to the success of the hospice.
Daniel Pickard, Centre Director of Corby Town Shopping and Willow Place said: “We are thrilled to have been part of the charity selection process for this fabulous gesture by Pep & Co.
The store has provided extremely popular since its July opening and judging by the number of Pep & Co carrier bags one sees every day Lakelands Day Care Hospice should benefit significantly”
